The Church of the Nazarene was born through the banding together of various associations of local churches that preached and taught holiness in the theological tradition of John Wesley.

in 1908 the Church of the Nazarene had 200 churches scattered across the U.S.A. Today there are 30,000 Nazarene churches in more than 160 countries.
